Beginner / Intermediate / Advance

Sherry's Sign Sessions consist of two Power Point presentations:
Beginner / Intermediate students learn about the History of Sign Language, basic signs thru classifiers over a course of 6 lessons. (over 500 signs)
Intermediate / Advance students learn about the "Role of the Interpreter" thru many English idioms in 4 lessons. (over 100 Idioms)

The Lessons can be printed off so the students will have there own workbooks. It is suggested that you have each student pay a $10.00 fee to cover the cost of printing the books. My experience is that if they are not willing to pay something for the class then they are not really interested in learning.

The more you get involved the better the classes. To really make the class come alive invite a few deaf people to come and teach the lessons using the CD as a guide. They will show you the difference between "regional" signs - the way they sign a particular word and the way the "book" shows how to sign it. The deaf are always right - after all it's their language. Always use the sign the deaf use.
